Topic: Lasting Impact

Subtopic: A Major Key for Lasting Impact

#Key. Sacrifice (Paying a Price)

(John 12:24)

No sacrifice. No significance.

Impact does not come under comfort, it comes with a cost.

Impact cannot be achieved without sacrifice.

It will cost you time, comfort, reputation, sleep…and even your relationships.

Every impact requires a price to be paid.

If your desire is to make impact, you must be ready to pay the price/ to make the necessary sacrifice.

If you are addicted to comfort, you will never make impact in life.

A person who is impact-driven must come out of his/her comfort zone.

If your assignment in life does not demand sacrifice, then your assignment is useless.

Your problem in life: You are too comfortable to be lifted.

You don't want anything to inconvenience you.

God does not trade in cheap glory.

Sacrifices required for Lasting impact:

#1. The sacrifice of comfort

Comfort produces pleasure, not purpose.

"You cannot build legacy on comfort. You build legacy on purpose."

"If you are not ready to pay the price, you will serve those who pay the price."

"If your life is too comfortable, your impact will be too small. You must stretch yourself so that generations will feel your impact."

(Luke 9:23)

#2. The sacrifice of time

Time is a raw material towards making impact

If you make good use of your time, you will make sufficient impact.

The best way to sacrifice your time is to do away with time-wasters.

Invest your time in productivity - things that will better your life.

You can never make impact in life if you joke with your time.

With people who are impactful, every minute and second counts.

If you don't have a schedule, you will lack value. Why? Destiny responds to priorities, not wishes.

Every day, make sure that you have done something towards fulfilling your destiny/your goals/your desires.

Every day must count.

If you miss a day, you have missed an opportunity to advance your impact.

Every day that passes, you are closer to your exit on earth, so you must make good use of your time.

(Ephesians 5:16)

#3. Sacrifice of self

(John 12:24)

There are things you must kill if you must make impact.

Do away with pride, ego, self-promotion, self-exaltation and any character and promotion that will send people out of your life.

Let God have the credit in everything you are doing.

Sacrifice yourself on the platform of impact.

Sacrificing yourself also means working on your character.

Be ready to serve even if nobody notices you.

You are not after man's applause, you are after God's glory.

Self must decrease for purpose to increase.

e.g. John the Baptist acknowledged that Jesus was the Lamb of God and that he was not worthy to untie his shoes.

He decreased while Jesus increased.

#4. The sacrifice of finances and resources

"Pride makes noise. Humility makes history."

If you are not ready to do away with your cash for investments, you are not ready for impact. Stingy people cannot make impact in life.

Every dream for impact must be funded.

If you are not ready to pay the financial price. You cannot make impact.

(2 Samuel 24:24)

"Giving stretches you financially, but it brings a mighty return."

What does not cost you, will not change your life."

What does not cost you, will not change the lives of others.

Impact is expensive but regret is more costly.

A closed-hand person cannot make impact in life.

#5. The sacrifice of relationship

If you want to make impact there are relationships you must sacrifice.

There are friends you must drop. Carrying them along will frustrate your growth. (It's not that you are proud, they don't fit where you are going to.)

Not everyone is going where you are headed to.

(Genesis 12:1)

There are Jonahs you must remove from your boat if you must continue your journey.

(Genesis 13:14-15)

You cannot carry destiny and drag baggage. You will not go anywhere.

Some relationships are weights and barriers.

You must outgrow some associations if you must make impact.

Let go of people who resist your ideas.

Keep emotional attachment aside.

Every season of your life requires discernment and not sentiment.

Discernment to know who is needed and not needed.

#6. The sacrifice of immediate results (sacrifice of distractions)

I.e. Not getting signs immediately.

Patience is needed.

God matures fruit so you must exercise patience.

(Galatians 6:9)

Impatience will abort destiny. Patience will mature destiny.

Have this concept —

"Delay is not denial. It is development."

Most things you get in a hurry will not last.

If process is neglected, when you get to the top you will fall down.

Process gives you foundation and foundation enables you not to crack.

If you appear before time, you will lose early.

If God give you what you he has not groomed you for, it will destroy you.

A believer must NOT follow sentiment, but discernment.

Prayer Points:

*Hold the flag of your country and pray.

  1. In the name of Jesus every strongman in <your country> fighting my breakthrough catch fire!
